Herbs for Women’s Health & Sexual Wellbeing Course

Four Saturdays 10am – 6pm March 4th, April 8th, May 6th, June 3rd; $625

Over 4 months, delve into 30 hours of classroom and interactive time exploring four areas of women’s health and sexual wellbeing! During each session, you will learn about 4 different areas of sexual health and wellbeing in addition to how to use specific herbal remedies, and how they work in the body. Each segment will include making herbal remedy preparations that you will be able to take home and build your own personal apothecary/medicine cabinet specific for women’s sexual health & wellbeing. At the end of the course you will receive a course certificate of completion in “Herbs for Women’s Health & Sexual Wellbeing.” This course is a unique combination of Bridget’s personal journey over the past 10 years along with her global training in spiritual and traditional herbalism.

Part 1: Women’s anatomy, physiology, pelvic floor health, and common infections & dysfunctions. We will have 2 guest speakers who are experts in sexual trauma and pelvic floor physical therapy.

Part 2: Stages of womanhood ranging from menstruation, pregnancy, menopause, and post-menopause.

Part 3: Pleasure physiology, herbal aphrodisiacs, intimacy, and beyond.

Part 4: Sacred Feminine, tuning in with our bodies & the environment, nourishment, and stepping into our empowered self.


Adventure Herbal First Aid

Planning on traveling, hiking, or camping this spring break or for summer? Come learn in this hands on course about herbal remedies for your own herbal first aid kit. Discover ways of how herbal applications can come to your aid if you encounter a misadventure on your excursion – whether it’s a walk in the woods, or rock climbing in the Patagonia. We will discuss several plants & preparations will also come in hand. Leave the workshop prepared for and knowledgeable about situations ranging from poison ivy in your backyard, preventing infections, to international traveling qualms.


Integrative Health – Stress

Stressed out? This area of life has an enormous impact on our energy levels and the ability to live a life of vitality. While stress may sometimes help us get things done, often it may develop into overwhelming feelings that have a negative impact on other areas of your life. During this class, we will discuss a variety of herbal remedies, including adaptogens, that can help us manage and reduce our levels stress. Additionally, find out how to integrate the herbs most beneficial to your situation into your life and implement other techniques that can be used to foster stress reduction & relaxation.


Luscious Natural Soap Making!

Learn the art of creating luscious, herbal soaps!  You will leave class with samples and recipes, ready to blend your own creations!

 

 


Introduction to the Inner Landscape (Part 2 of 5 part series)

 Our Inner Landscape is one which is populated with thoughts, memories, beliefs and, often, anxiety or fear.  As the second in this series of classes, we’ll look at our nervous system as a whole and why the state of your nervous system can play a major role in your healing path.
A straightforward and interesting exploraton of our nervous and enteric systems (our two brains) and the role each plays on our physical, emotional and spiritual health.  We’ll take a look at the subject of bitters and their effects on digestion, adaptogens and their uses for helping restore healthy stress-response and demulcents and their effects in maintaining a healthy digestive system as well as the WHY of these three classes of herbs being linked.

Liquid Soap Making

Tuesday March 21st 6 – 7:30pm; $25

Learn how to create all natural liquid soap, safe for yourself and your loved ones.  Participants will make a batch of liquid soap, discuss essential oils to scent your soap and take home samples.

Alchemy and Transformation (Part 3 of 5 part series)
Saturday April 8th 10am – 1 pm;  $55

 We are constantly in a state of flux and change.  Our inner landscape changes frequently, all the while believing we are the same person as yesterday or last year.  We’ll look at the ways in which the body and mind encounter the world, break it down and refine it into something (hopefully) fulfilling and useful, as well as the ways that it doesn’t and how we can help it along.
Playing off of our work in the previous class, we’ll pick up where we left off with the processes of digestion and look at some common ailments of the digestive and ailimentary system and gut-healing herbs.  In addition, we’ll cover the basics of immunity, anatomy and physiology of the respiratory and lymphatic system and how these systems recieve and refine elements from our environment and make them into something useful.  We’ll look at the differences and uses of immune modulating, immune stimulating, anti-microbial, anti-viral and lymphatic herbs.

This class will introduce several excellent herbal energy alternatives or side-kicks (if you must have your morning coffee) to help you build and sustain your energy levels. We will discuss how these herbal energy boosters actually work to provide long-lasting energy, and how you can easily incorporate these into your routine. Whether you are looking for a long-term solution to raising your energy or herbal energy quick fix boosters, we will explore it all.

 

 


 

Herbal Infused Honey:  Tuesday April 18th 6 – 7:30pm; $25 

We love honey! Honey and herbs together make a divine treat! We will discuss bees, their importance and the benefits of herbs and honey. Participants will make their own custom infusion along with tips for making homemade infusions.

 

 


Natural Baby Products: Saturday April 22nd 10 – 11:30am; $30

Looking for organic, all natural products to pamper your little one?  Learn how to make an Herbal Bath Soak and a Baby Body Cream perfect for maintaining that wonderful baby skin.  We will be making these products together during the class.  Babies welcome although they tend to distract mothers from the hands on approach to creating the product. Finished products also available for purchase.

Dream-Time (Part 4 of 5 part series)

One of the keystones to wellness is held in our ability to achieve a deep, easeful sleep.  Interestingly, our dream capacity contributes to our health and well-being.
In this class we’ll explore patterns of sleep and rest, dreaming and even prophecy.  Specific strategies, recipes and rituals for stepping into the mysteries of dream-time, including hypnotics, sedatives, relaxants as well as stimulants, basics of aromatherapy for sleep.  Herbs to help induce dreaming and intuition will also be covered as well as some beautiful flower essences.  We will also take a brief look at pain and some effective herbal strategies for finding relief.

Relaxing with Rose & Mimosas!

It’s time we put aside the harsh chemicals and use the elements nature gave us and of course relax. We will focus on rose! Roses are beautiful in so many ways for skin irritation, tightening your pores, and detoxification by itself or when paired with other herbs. We will learn how to make some lovely skin care products while we relax!

Foundation (Part 5 of 5 part series)

It’s been said that the root and foundation of the human being is her heart.  We’ll conclude our series with the cardivascular system and integumentary system.  Here we’ll look at tonics which include circulatory, vascular and heart uplifters.  The term “blood builder” is often used for herbs such as this and we’ll take a look at what that really means.

We’ll conclude class with a look at the basics of skincare (as a contrast to looking at our core or heart).  Common problems and some basic first aid, herbal skin-care regimes throughout the seasons and more.  We will look at some common herbal items you may want to have on hand in case of minor emergencies.

Intro to Aromatherapy: Wednesday May 3rd 6 – 7:30pm; FREE

Interested in essential oils but unsure how to use them? In this class we will discuss how to safely use use essential oils, blending and creating your own products. You will leave with handouts and a custom blended spritzer.
